The emblem of
the congregation is the pierced Heart of Mary, in its center is the
host on a cross and the crossed hands of Christ and St. Francis. The
emblem features various images and symbols that are especially important
to the Felician Sisters.
The Host:
The Eucharist is the center of our lives. We are nourished
by, challenged by and united in the Eucharist.
The Cross:
We are called to continuous conversion of heart as we seek
to do God's will in our daily lives.
Christ's
Hand: Impelled by the gospel, we seek to cooperate with Christ
in the spiritual renewal of the world. Jesus calls and strengthens
us to live his love in service of others.
Francis'
Hand: As we follow Jesus in the example of Francis, we endeavor
to live Franciscan values and virtues - faith, prayer, poverty, humility
and simplicity.
Mary's
Heart: We look to Mary, our model of faith, for constant inspiration
and guidance.
The Sword:
And Simeon said to Mary, his mother, "this child is destined
for the fall and rise of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will
be contradicted, and you yourself a sword shall pierce." Luke
2:34,35
The Flames:
Our hearts, like Mary's, are on fire with love of God and
one another.
